About Plumber Comparator
Plumber Comparator is a small, independent information and referral site for California homeowners. It exists to answer one question before you hire: what should this plumbing job cost, and what should the quote include?
Who publishes it
The site is published by Clément Lacaille, founder of Tech-Bharat, a small studio that builds web products and information sites. Clément is the editor responsible for what appears here. He is not a licensed plumber or contractor, and the site does not pretend otherwise: our job is research and plain explanation, not diagnosing your pipes. When a question needs a trained eye on site (a gas smell, a slab leak, a sewer backup), we say so and point you to a CSLB-licensed C-36 plumbing contractor.
What the site is, and what it is not
- It is a set of cost guides for 17 common plumbing jobs, 145 California city pages, homeowner guides, and a free quote-request form.
- It is not a plumbing company, a directory or a review site. We do not list, rank or rate plumbers, and we never publish reviews, star ratings or testimonials.
- It is not a quote. Every price on the site is a typical range; a real price needs a contractor to see the job.
How the pages are made
Our cost ranges, regional labor rates and city profiles are editorial estimates, explained in detail on the methodology page. Pages that show a Sources section and a research note, such as the plumber cost guide or the Fremont page, were rewritten and checked by hand on the date shown, with local data taken from the water utility or city that publishes it. We are reviewing the rest of the archive against the same standard.
How the site makes money
When you send a quote request, we pass it to one or more independent licensed contractors or referral partners able to serve your area, and we may be paid for that referral. That is the whole business model. No contractor pays to change a cost range or to appear on a page.
