Typical cost ranges
- Like-for-like drop-in (top-mount) swap: roughly $300–$800 all-in, including a mid-range stainless sink and 2–3 hours of labor. This is the cheapest scenario because the counter opening does not change.
- Undermount replacement: roughly $500–$1,200. The sink is glued and clipped to the underside of the counter, so removal is slower and the new sink must match the existing cutout closely.
- Farmhouse / apron-front conversion: often $1,000–$2,500+, because the cabinet usually needs modification to carry the weight and the counter opening must be recut.
